Tame Impala on Writing Music in the Digital Age

When Kevin Parker teased Borderline and Patience, the whole world held our collective breath. Are we really going to get a new Tame album??

Ehhh, maybe. Turns out writing music is hard af, and the modern “luxuries” of digital production actually make it harder for an artist to create something he/she is proud to put out there.

For the long-form among us, there’s nothing like peeling back the curtain and realizing our favorite artists are grappling with the same anxieties and self doubt that we are, are struggling with similar identity issues, and turn to music for the same cathartic escapism that we’re all reaching for (even if we can’t find the words to describe it).
