Audien Drops Debut Album Escapism

After a career spanning over a decade, Audien dropped his debut album Escapism last November. When I first spun this, it hit me the same as Gryffin’s Gravity: it’s got a lot of qualities of a pop record but to borrow a phrase from Top Chef, it’s very “electronic forward.”

Opening with See You On The Other Side instrumental takes me back to the intro on ODESZA’s A Moment Apart. Escape is probably the best reflection of Audien’s unique production style.

Dreams has a pretty sweet drop around 1:32 and the piano instrumental on Something Greater Interlude gave me chills.

I featured Favorite Sound as the Better Spins subject lyrics a few weeks back and regular BS readers will know I’ve never heard a Nevve vocal I didn’t love.

He’s playing Soundcheck this Thursday, come hang out!
