I’ll Give You Love You Can’t Ignore

16 tracks on the Better Spins playlist this week. Some highlights:

  • Haywyre – Let Me Hear That. This is what you’d get if the Squab and Madeon had a love-child in the 60s.
  • NoMBe – Wait. Has a really fun bluesy riff on the bridge.
  • Verzache – Losing My Love. “Pioneer in the modern experimental acoustic sound” has a certain dark but somehow-also-inviting style.
  • Lost Frequencies, Zonderling – Crazy. Gave me Avicii chills.
  • Hot Chip – Hungry Child. Serious Rufus vibes.
  • MELVV – Right Side Up (ft. Manila Killa & Sophia Black). I got MELVV and Manila Killa to view my Insta story…I promise to remember you all when I level up and start getting reposted!

Honorable Mentions

  • Diplomats of Solid Sound – Soul Connection. “The Diplomats play music FROM and FOR the SOUL!”
  • Mali Music – Fight for You. Neo-soul and hip-hop with roots of gospel music? Please and thank you.
  • Louis the Child, Elohim – The Wave (Louis the Child remix). Very different take on Elohim’s vocals, so distorted that you almost don’t even recognize it’s a woman’s voice. Throw in glitch elements reminiscent of Flume on Some Minds and this is one of the more nuanced and complex remixes I’ve heard since Kasbo’s Places We Don’t Know Remix EP.
