Fun Facts About Louis the Child
I’ve been a fan of Louis the Child for a long time (finally got to check their live show off the bucket list w/ @joelb192 last year).
I somehow came across this interview that Robby did while still a freshman at USC with some really neat facts:
- How they met: At a Madeon concert, while Freddy was still in high school and producing music as Fatboy. They would later go on to open for the European leg of the Shelter live tour.
- How they got their name: “We went on Wikipedia and hit the random article button a couple of times, then Louis The Child popped up and we thought, ‘Yeah, that sounds good and we went with it.'”
- How they took off: “We put in a lot of work behind the scenes trying to set up a big premiere for [It’s Strange]. Taylor Swift posted a picture of songs she was really into and “It’s Strange was on it. Then Lorde tweeted out the lyrics to the song not too long ago.”
Been a long time since one of the best has graced us with his indie-tronic chillwave vibes.
