Sara Bareilles’ Amidst the Chaos Has All The Feels
One of my favorite things about Better Spins is when friends suggest new tunes. Sometimes these come out of left field (like this Billy Ray Cyrus/Lil Nas X track from @tylerdotson90), other times people beat me to an album release from one of the most artistically versatile women out there.
Sara Bareilles dropped Amidst the Chaos last week, the first album since she took Broadway by storm with Waitress (which was up for Best Musical Tony the same year as Hamilton…tough draw).
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Sara explains: “I describe my life as falling into two categories: it’s ‘before Waitress’ and ‘after Waitress. It fundamentally changed almost everything about my life.”
The album “features everything from love songs about the Obamas to a feminist anthem, and tracks Bareilles’s efforts to rectify the stress and chaos of the world.”
